Virtually every type of Public transit available ...

Seattle Storm 85
San Antonio Silver Stars 82
(OT) Key Arena - 8.01.09

The trip was from the Northgate Park and Ride to Westlake with a transfer onto LINK to Tukwila and back to Westlake in order to go outside and ride the SLUT and get back to go upstairs to take the Monorail to Seattle Center for a Storm game. A different bus ride back to Northgate after the game brought us round trip. Then we took a ferry on Sunday and completed the public transportation pentathlon.

In re the game ...

I resisted the urge to make a sign reading something to the effect that Russia would be worth it if Becky Hammon would marry me ...

The game was one where the home team controlled the game virtually all 40 minutes. The problem was that with about 4 minutes left San Antonio managed to tie it up and force Bird to make a trey in order to force overtime. Had the Storm hit a lay up or other 1 footer in the fourth quarter instead of continually missing them, this would have all been moot. Instead, we got a thrilling overtime win.

The hideous Oregon Duck style shoes LJ was wearing need to be banned forever.

Early in the game I made a couple observations that came back to haunt me. First, I mentioned that at this pace, the first to 80 would win. San Antonio hit 80 with the Storm still at 79. Second, there was a lady that kept yelling, "Rebound!" regardless of the situation. Late in the game, we were yelling, "Rebound!" over and over again.

Still ... a nice win.

Oh, and retiring the number 6 in honor of the fans? Nice touch.
